DaySense for iPhone and DaySense for Windows are private reflection tools. They are not medical devices. They do not diagnose, predict, treat, monitor emergencies, or provide medical advice — on either platform.

Not a medical device

DaySense is not a medical device. It is not registered, approved, or cleared by any regulatory authority (including the FDA, MHRA, CE/UKCA, or TGA) as a medical device, diagnostic tool, or therapy.

Both DaySense for iPhone and DaySense for Windows are designed for personal reflection. They reflect what you log; they do not interpret, treat, or evaluate your health.

What DaySense will not do

  • It will not diagnose any condition.
  • It will not provide medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice.
  • It will not predict crises or detect emergencies.
  • It will not contact emergency services, carers, or healthcare providers on your behalf.
  • It will not recommend changes to medication, treatment, or care plans.
  • It will not replace professional assessment or care.

Profiles & framing

DaySense includes optional profiles (such as Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar, Sleep-sensitive, and General). These profiles change wording, context options, and framing only. Selecting a profile does not mean DaySense diagnoses or confirms any condition. You can change profiles at any time, on either platform.

If you need urgent help

Please contact local emergency services or trained crisis support.

If you are in crisis, having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, or in any kind of emergency, DaySense is not the right tool. It is not designed to handle crises and does not contact anyone for you.

Examples of services people use in different regions:

  • UK: NHS 111, Samaritans 116 123, or 999 in an emergency
  • US: 911, or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
  • EU: 112 in an emergency
  • Australia: 000, or Lifeline 13 11 14

Where you are matters. If you are unsure, please contact your local emergency number or your healthcare provider.

For your healthcare provider

DaySense data is a personal observational record. It can be useful as context to share with your clinician, for example by exporting a record from the iPhone build, but it is not clinical data, and DaySense is not a clinical decision tool. Your clinician's judgement, context, and other information sources should always take priority over a DaySense record.

Limitation of liability

DaySense is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DaySense and its developer are not responsible for decisions, actions, or outcomes based on use of either DaySense for iPhone or DaySense for Windows. By using either app, you acknowledge that DaySense is a personal reflection tool and not a substitute for professional assessment, care, or emergency response.
